ARP MENTORING PROGRAM

Medical Students, Interns, Residents, and Physicians interested in the art of Ringside Medicine are invited to participate in our Mentoring Program.  Activities may include round table discussions of events and topics, attendance at our annual conventions, sitting ringside at events, and discussing the aspects of Ringside Medicine with seasoned Ringside Physicians.

There is no cost for this program, but sincere interest in the medical aspects of Ringside Medicine is requisite.  Medical Students, Interns, Residents and Attending Physicians must be Student/Resident or Physician members of the ARP.

Any attendance at a professional event must be cleared by the relevant Athletic Commission or Regulating Body. Professional conduct and attire are mandatory, and, due to liability issues, roles at events are observational only.  Venues and Regulatory Bodies reserve the right to levy associated ticket fees, etc.

Mentors must be ARP Members in good standing, and should be an official Ringside Physician at the given event. Physicians Assistants and Nurse Practitioners are also invited to join ARP and gain shadow experience.  (ARP supports the use of midlevel providers at events under Physician supervision only. ARP does not support the solo practice of midlevel providers at events.)

For Ringside Physicians who would like to mentor either another physician, resident, or medical student: Please send an e-mail to the contact person below stating your interest, experience, location, and any information regarding if your local commission allows students or residents at events. We will try to pair you up with individuals in your state who have questions about ringside medicine or are looking to get more experience.

For Physicians looking for more ringside experience:  Please send an e-mail to the contact person below stating your interest, experience, and location. We will try to find a ringside physician in your local boxing/MMA commission who may be able to help you gain more experience.
For Residents and Medical Students: Please send an e-mail to the contact person below stating your interest, experience, and location. We will try to find a ringside physician in your local boxing/mma commission who can answer your questions about ringside medicine and depending on the rules of the local commission may also be able to arrange for opportunities at fights if the policies allow.
